Well, I have to admit, i did not run at all last week. My wife found out that she had the week off from work, so we took a trip to Disneyworld for the week. The temperature was perfect and suprisingly, it wasn't very busy to be spring break. Of course the ride that I have never liked, "It's a Small World", was Kinsey's favorite. I do enjoy it more now because I am able to watch her laugh and have a good time rather than focus my attention on the ride and wonder how quickly it will be over.
The characters (Mickey, Minnie, etc.) that we encountered were great. This was our first trip with Kinsey since she started using a wheelchair and we weren't sure how comfortable the characters would be with her. We found that they spent extra time with her and would not leave her alone until they saw her smile once. I have always been impressed with and enjoyed Disneyworld, but am even more impressed now due to the fact that they went the extra mile to make her feel like any other child.
I ran today and will try to run more this week but I'm not sure when I'll be able to. We are getting new carpet tomorrow, so I have lots of furniture to move. And then on Thursday, Kinsey will be admitted to UMC for surgery on Friday and she will go home Sunday. I will not be able to be at the run on Saturday. Please remember her in your prayers, this weekend. She is having what is supposed to be a minor brain surgery, but anytime you deal with the brain, minor can become major in a second.
I'm looking forward to getting back in the running routine next week. April 2nd, I start a new job at UMC that I am very excited about.

Rusty,
I will pray for a great outcome for Kinsey. Also, good luck on your new job.
I love "it's a small world" at Disney and always make Clark ride it! He hates it!
Kinsey is precious- I'll be praying for Kinsey, and your family. Running is a great way to find a prayerful time and praise God for our many blessings, so if not knocking them dead on the new job, or taking care on Kinsey, get out and keep in touch with the big man. Keep us posted!
Kinsey is in my prayers and so are you and your wife. I know it can't be easy or "minor" to you.
I'm so glad y'all had a good time in Disney - I am a little jealous!
Let us know how it goes Friday.
i would think, brain surgery, no matter how small, would be minor and especially if it were my child,, she and you family will be in my prayers,,
let us know how she does,
I will definitely be praying for Kinsey and your family. Please keep us posted.
So glad you and your family got to "steal" some time in Disneyworld, away from the everyday living. So fun to get away! And, I will think on your idea of "getting the full experience" in Chicago, running on the outside, near the crow. Or, staying in the middle, blending in.
Kinsey is blessed to have you and your wife as parents...!..hope the surgery goes well.
I will be praying. Minor brain surgery sounds like an oxymoron to me, but I'm not in the medical field. Glad y'all enjoyed Disneyland and it was so wonderful that the Disney crew made sure Miss Kinsey enjoyed herself. I don't like "It's a Small World" either, but small children seem to love it :)
